The Barrington Court Chapter is named for the historic stately home in Somerset which was an early acquisition of the newly created National Trust for England. The Chapter serves the Northwest suburbs of Chicago (including Barrington, McHenry, Schaumburg, Elk Grove village and Arlington Heights).
Barrington Court is the largest Chapter in Illinois and meets towards the end of each month in members’ homes.
Meetings include tea, conversation and light refreshments.
Chapter members enjoy regular social events throughout the year
including Guy Fawkes night, a Holiday party and at least one summer picnic or concert. Members are very proud of their British heritage and love the opportunity to share it with others.

The Chapter is named for the ancient, but extinct, Duchy of
Buckingham, and for the iconic Royal Residence built by the first Duke in 1703. They proudly trace their roots back to 1916 and serve the downtown Chicago neighborhoods of River North, Streetsville,
Lakeshore, Gold Coast, South Loop, West Loop, Kinzie Station and The Loop.
The Chapter meets every month at various venues, including the
Women’s Athletic Club and a range of Downtown restaurants.
Agendas cover what’s happening at the DBE state level, as well as
planning for and working on their own fundraising events.
The Chapter embraces the goals of the DBE and cordially welcomes visitors, friends, and new members to their meetings.

The Chapter is named for Dorothy Vernon of Hadden Hall, an
Elizabethan heroine who lived, loved and eloped in the English
County of Derbyshire. Dorothy was made famous through the
writings of Charles Major and the 1924 blockbuster starring Mary
Pickford.
The Chapter serves Skokie and surrounding areas (including
Evanston, Lake Bluff, Lincoln Square, North Shore and Northbrook).
They meet on the third Friday of the month at Hackney on Harm’s
restaurant in Glenview.
Chapter members include the State Historian, the State Standard
Bearer and their Regent is a board member at The British Home at
Cantata. All members would be delighted to welcome in visitors and new members.

The Chapter is named for the last Royal House to originate within the British Isles and commemorates the monarchs who created the United Kingdom by unifying the Crown.
House of Stuart serves Naperville and surrounding areas (including Lisle, Aurora, Bolingbrook, Woodridge, Warrenville and Downers Grove). They meet on the second Monday of the month in the private dining room of a North Naperville apartment block.
The Chapter was reinstituted in 2022 with a mixture of British ladies,and Americans with British heritage. Outside of meetings themembers socialize at each other’s homes, meet up for lunch and enjoy trips out. They would enthusiastically welcome new members joining them.

The Chapter is named for the Lancashire Rose, a heraldic device used by the ancient Duchy of Lancaster and the modern-day link between the County of Lancashire and its rich heritage.
The newest DBE Chapter in Illinois was formed in 2023 with members from England, Scotland and New Zealand. The Chapter serves the Champaign - Urbana area (including Charlston, Springfield, Bloomington, Decatur, Danville, and beyond).
Lancashire Rose members meet mainly at weekends (usually the first weekend of each month) at a range of venues in the Champaign-Urbana area. Their members are active in State & Midwest forums and are very keen to grow their Chapter by welcoming in new members..
