Barrington & NW Suburbs
Founded in 1983, the Barrington Court Chapter serves the northwest suburbs of Chicago and is a fun and lively group of ladies. We usually meet on the second Wednesday of every month. Pre-covid we would meet in the Barrington Public library, but we now generally do a combination of Zoom and meeting at member’s homes. Our meetings always include plenty of tea and conversation as well as light refreshments such as sandwiches, sausage rolls, and even the occasional Victoria sponge. Our meeting agenda includes an opportunity to find out what is happening at the DBE state level, as well as planning and working on fundraising events. It’s not all work, though, we like to make sure we have a number of social events, too. We usually have a Guy Fawkes night, a Holiday party and at least one summer picnic/concert. We’re proud of our British heritage and love having a chance to share it.

Naperville
House of Stuart is a lively and fun chapter with both British ladies and Americans with British heritage. Current members reside primarily in the Aurora, Naperville & Lisle areas, however, our territory expands to all the neighboring towns and villages. House of Stuart focuses on friendship, cultural education and, of course, our primary goal of fundraising and providing assistance to The British Home – Cantata located in Brookfield, IL.
They recently gathered for fun evening at a “Charcuterie Workshop” and are now preparing for their largest and most successful fundraiser, “Whisky Tasting for A Cause.”
